Diane MerrionAg in the Classroom Coordinator
Diane Merrion is the Agriculture Literacy Coordinator for the Cook County Farm Bureau®. Merrion holds a B.S. in Education from Carroll University and spent over 20 years in the human resources field with a focus on executive recruitment and management training prior to joining the Farm Bureau in 2010. In her role she is responsible for overseeing all agricultural education and outreach efforts with K-12 students and teachers in Cook County, including the development of classroom programs and special literacy events targeted to youth and adults on the topics of food, fiber and energy.
In 2014, Merrion received the Perry Schneider Special Award for contributions improving and expanding Illinois agriculture education from the Illinois Leadership Council. She is a graduate of the Illinois Farm Bureau Ag Leaders of Tomorrow (A LOT) Program, Class of 2015 and holds an honorary FFA Degree that was awarded by the Chicago High School for Ag Sciences. Diane and her family enjoy traveling, gardening and experiencing all that Chicago has to offer.
