Cream of Cauliflower or Broccoli SoupZeldenrust Farm Market, Chicago Heights

Ingredients

  • 6 c water
  • 10 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 4 ribs of celery (cut up)
  • 1 c onion (cut up)
  • 1 t. salt
  • ¼ t pepper
  • ½ t garlic powder
  • 8 c fresh cauliflower or broccoli (cut up)

Directions

Boil above ingredients until tender, about 15 minutes.  In saucepan melt 1 stuck butter; stir in 8 tbsp. flour and 2 cups of milk and 2 cups of heavy cream.  Optional:  ¼ lb of American cheese added gives good flavor.
