UpdateCOVID-19, 100-year Anniversary Event and Service to members
The Cook County Farm Bureau® has been monitoring the developments related to COVID – 19 (coronavirus).
Circumstances are changing daily. Aggressive and preventative measures are being taken to protect our individual and collective health requiring many of us to adjust our normal practices, impacting all of our daily lives.
We recently communicated to members that due to our concern and interest in member safety and well-being, the Board of Directors has decided to postpone the Breakfast at the Farm Bureau 100 - year Anniversary Celebration that was scheduled for March 28, 2020. We believe that we have a responsibility to do our share as a part of the preventative solution.
We will be setting and announcing a new date for the celebration event at a later time and we will be sure to let members know about the re-scheduled. We really appreciate the wide-spread member interest in being a part of this special time in the life of Cook County Farm Bureau.
Through this trying and concerning time, Cook County Farm Bureau will continue to support our farmer and associate members through delivery of membership benefits and services, information and communication and issue/ag literacy management through technology. Please call 708-354-FARM (3276) from 8 a.m.‑ 4:30 p.m. CT Monday‑Friday for questions, information, and service. You can also access information and services through our website www.cookcfb.org or facebook page.
Some of our meetings and programming have been transitioned to online or delayed/postponed. We will continue to evaluate the most prudent delivery methods. Please check our website or Facebook pages for the latest information.
We are working with the Illinois Farm Bureau to communicate to state and federal officials and a number of farmer needs including access to capital, food processing and transportation delivery, and the farm input handling and supply system that farmers count on to continue operations. Farming and food production are essential services.
We know the struggles members face are real and certainly not trivial. We wish all of our members the very best of health now and always and thank you for your membership.
