Urban Foraging: the ancient art of gathering plants and fungi for food, medicine, ceremony, utilitarian uses, and connection, now within the city. This class is great for beginners-intermediate plant lovers and foragers. There will most likely be some foraged treats to taste, so come with an adventurous appetite to taste your landscape! Recipes provided.
CDBA (Cook DuPage Beekeepers Association) Fall Picnic, Saturday, October 22, 12 – 3:00 pm, Churchill Woods Picnic Shelter is located at: 1059 W. St. Charles Rd, Lombard. The CDBA October Fall picnic at Churchill Woods in Lombard from noon to 3pm. We will be grilling on-site this year! An email will be sent soon asking you RSVP and to choose a grilled meat or a grilled vegetarian option. Everyone should plan on bringing a side dish or a dessert. A $10 per person fee will be collected with half going to the Club and half going into a 50/50 raffle to be drawn at the picnic. Join us and you might be the lucky raffle winner!
A Family Halloween at Historic Wagner Farm on Sunday, October 23, 2022 3pm-6pm.
The farm is transformed into a spooky site with ghostly cows and haunted hay rides. Kid friendly activities include haunted building, arts and crafts, and ghoulish games. Limited admission. Wagner Farm 1510 Wagner Rd Glenview.
Agroforestry 101 Webinar: How trees can support farms and landscapes, Illinois Extension webinar, Oct. 26, 2 to 3 p.m.
