The Ag Literacy team is excited to welcome our Summer 2021 Intern, Emily Lopata. Majoring in Agribusiness with a  in Business Administration, Emily attends Illinois State University. “My family has a farm in Rockton, Illinois where we raise Belted Galloway cattle, grow a big garden, and make our own maple syrup!”. Some fun facts Emily shared include:

• I love going to the farmers’ market with my mom in the summer.
• I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking my dog. and going fishing!
• I am the President of Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority at Illinois State University.

Emily will help lead our Ag Literacy programs this summer including presenting to local libraries in person and virtually, organizing teacher professional development programs, and creating content for next year’s educational outreach efforts.
