AITC heads back into the classroom
Cook County Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom program is ready to teach your students about agriculture during the 2024-2025 school year.
AITC presentations this year include:
- Intro to Illinois Ag (4th grade)
- There’s Ag on MyPlate! (4th grade)
- Investigating Illinois’ Soil (4-5th grades and 6-8th grades)
- Specialty Crops through the Seasons (4th grade)
- Keeping Warm with Agriculture (4th grade)
- Taco Adventure (2nd grade)
Our program’s goal is for our seven presenters to visit 1,200 classrooms throughout Cook County this school year.
In addition to in-class presentations, we will also offer Farm Shadow programs, where 6-12th grade students can gain insight into potential agricultural careers through classroom or virtual presentations and field trips.
To educate teachers about agriculture, we will offer free PDCH workshops. Two-hour virtual PDCH workshops will be held, one each semester. We also offer free in-school PDCH during teacher institute or school improvement days.
