how bees overcome challenges. And you’ll learn techniques that leverage their natural abilities to
adapt and thrive. This program will guide you season by season into keeping bees sustainably.

- Evolution of Hive Designs and their Management Techniques;
- Tools and Equipment You Must Have and How Much You Should Expect to Budget;
- Practical Ways to Obtain High Quality Bees to Get Started;
- What Happens Inside the Colony from Day 1 thru Winter and into Second Season Spring;
- Case Studies on What You May Find While Inspecting Your Colony;
- Best practices on How and When to Harvest Honey and Other Hive Products.
Sessions are led by Kim Kulton, President, Bee All About It. Kim operates a commercial beekeeping
business producing local honey, breeding Queens, and rescuing bees. And, Pete Soltesz, President
of CookDupage Beekeepers Association, one of the largest bee clubs in the Midwest. With the goal
that their bees thrive in a chem-free environment; produce an abundant, great-tasting, honey crop;
and survive over winter, Pete and Kim challenge modern conventional beekeeping wisdom, and share
their extensive experience in what works locally in our Chicago area counties.
