Some people have a favorite day of the year; this year, I had two favorite days: Ag Day North and Ag Day South.

A leadership development and growth plan called Future Forward was approved by the Cook County Farm Bureau Board of Directors at their April Board of Directors meeting. The plan is an outline of a strategy to recruit, train, engage, and develop a new crop of young agriculturalists and members with a focus on leadership and involvement through education, program participation, and training.

Held a soapmaking workshop where participants crafted their own natural soap and learned about the history of soap and soapmaking.

For the past two years, Midwest Horse Fair has marked the beginning of our rodeo season. Just over three years ago, this wild ball of energy decorated with a thick mane and kinky tail entered our lives one Thursday evening. Our veterinarian called him “old fashion.” I prefer to call him “thick.”
